1. Provider and scope
The provider is Jilence, Jonas Kelm, Franz-Mehring-Str. 15, 01237 Dresden, Germany (full details in the Imprint). These terms apply to the JilChat apps for iOS and Android and to the jil.chat website.
2. JilChat is a third-party client
JilChat is an independent client for Twitch chat and is not affiliated with Twitch Interactive, Inc. or Amazon. It is not operated, sponsored or endorsed by them. “Twitch” is a trademark of its respective owners.
Chat content comes from Twitch and is subject to Twitch's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Moderation, bans and chat availability are Twitch's responsibility, not JilChat's. The same applies to emotes and badges from 7TV, BetterTTV and FrankerFaceZ: their own terms and availability govern.
3. Account and rules of use
Using JilChat requires a Twitch account. You are responsible for your account, for the content you send and for keeping access to your device secure.
In particular, JilChat may not be used to:
- break the law or Twitch's rules,
- infringe third-party rights, such as copyright, trademark or personality rights,
- distribute harassing, threatening, harmful or otherwise unlawful content,
- send spam, overload the service through automation, or circumvent safeguards.
In case of serious or repeated violations we may restrict JilChat's own features or suspend the JilChat account. This affects our own services only — we can neither suspend nor restore your Twitch account.
4. Uploaded content
You remain responsible for images, voice messages and feedback you upload, and you confirm you hold the necessary rights. You grant us a simple right to store the content and deliver it through the generated link for the purpose of providing the service — no more than that, and only for as long as the content exists.
Share links can be opened by anyone who knows them. Images expire after 7 days, voice messages after 3 days. We may refuse or remove content that violates these terms, creates a security risk or exceeds stated limits.
5. JilChat Pro
JilChat Pro costs €2.99 per month (final price) and is an auto-renewing subscription. The price shown by the respective store at the time of purchase applies.
- Purchase and payment run through your Google Play or Apple account. We never see payment data.
- The subscription renews automatically for one month at a time unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Management and cancellation happen exclusively in your Google Play or Apple subscription settings, not in the app.
- Purchases can be restored inside the app.
- Deleting your JilChat account does not cancel the subscription. Cancel it in the store as well.
Right of withdrawal. As a consumer you generally have a fourteen-day right of withdrawal for digital content. It lapses early if you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you thereby lose the right — which is the norm when buying through an app store. The purchase contract is concluded through the respective store, so refunds and reversals are handled by Google or Apple under their terms. If you get stuck, write to [email protected].
6. Availability
We aim for reliable operation but do not owe uninterrupted availability. JilChat depends on third-party services — Twitch above all — whose changes or outages can render features temporarily or permanently unusable. Features may be changed or discontinued for security, legal or operational reasons. If an essential part of JilChat Pro is permanently discontinued, you can cancel the subscription through the store.
7. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and to the extent of any guarantee given.
For ordinary negligence we are liable only for breaching material obligations whose fulfilment makes proper performance possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Liability is otherwise excluded. Mandatory statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
We take no responsibility for content other users distribute in Twitch chat, nor for the services of Twitch, 7TV, BetterTTV and FrankerFaceZ.
8. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms when features, technical conditions or the legal situation change. We announce material changes in advance in an appropriate manner, and for running subscriptions with reasonable notice. If you do not object, or keep using JilChat after the changes take effect, the amended terms apply; otherwise you can cancel the subscription through the store with effect from that date.
9. Governing law
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country where you have your habitual residence remain unaffected. Dispute resolution information is in the Imprint.
