What this covers
This deletes your JilChat account — the data held by us. Your Twitch account stays: JilChat is an independent client and cannot delete anything at Twitch. To delete your Twitch account, go to Twitch directly.
Deleting your account does not cancel an active JilChat Pro subscription. Cancellation goes through your Google Play or Apple account.
Option 1 — in the app
The fastest route while JilChat is still installed. Deletion happens immediately, with no waiting period and no email round-trip:
Settings → Delete Account (on iOS the entry reads “Delete JilChat Account”). Confirm once and it is done.
Option 2 — without the app
If you have already uninstalled the app or can no longer sign in, file the request here. We review it by hand and reply to the address you give us. A plain email with your Twitch username to [email protected] works just as well.
Submitting the form does not delete anything yet. This page is reachable without signing in — if it deleted straight away, anyone could wipe someone else's account. Hence the review step.
How long it takes
Requests sent through the form or by email are processed within 30 days of arrival, usually much sooner. We confirm receipt by email and tell you when it is done. Deleting from inside the app takes effect immediately.
What gets deleted
- Account: internal JilChat account ID, Twitch user ID, login and display name, profile image URL.
- Push registrations: FCM and APNs device tokens, subscribed channels, your highlight words and notification preferences.
- Direct messages: the per-device ID and public key held for you, plus any undelivered messages still in the server mailbox. They become permanently unreadable.
- Badges: granted badges, earned milestones and your selection.
- Subscription data: purchase token or transaction identifier, entitlement status and the number of paid periods.
- Feedback: messages sent through the feedback form, with attachments.
- Uploads: images and voice messages that have not expired yet are removed from storage along with their share links.
All of it goes in one step: removing the account takes the linked records with it.
What is not deleted
- Your Twitch account and your chat messages on Twitch. Those live at Twitch, not with us. Deleting them is only possible through Twitch.
- Message history on your own devices. Direct messages are stored locally only. It disappears when you uninstall the app.
- Payment and billing records. They sit with Google or Apple and follow their retention rules. JilChat never sees payment data and keeps no billing records of its own.
- Technical server logs (such as IP address and timestamp of a request). They are kept only as long as secure operation requires and are not carried forward linked to your account.
- The deletion request itself. Twitch username, contact address and processing status are kept as a record of handling for up to 6 months after completion, then deleted automatically.
