Does 7TV work on mobile?
Not in the official Twitch app. 7TV is primarily a browser extension for Twitch on a computer, and the Twitch app does not load extensions. 7TV emotes show up there as plain words.
On a phone you only see 7TV through a chat app that integrates 7TV itself. JilChat is one of those apps.
How to use 7TV on iPhone and Android
No extension and no 7TV account needed:
- Install JilChat (App Store or Google Play)
- Sign in with your Twitch account
- Open a channel: its 7TV emotes and the global 7TV emotes load automatically
What JilChat shows from 7TV
Not just the images. JilChat shows 7TV the way you know it from the browser:
- Global and channel 7TV emotes
- Animated emotes that actually animate
- 7TV paints, the coloured names, drawn properly
- 7TV badges next to the name
- Live updates: when a channel adds an emote, it shows up within seconds, no restart
What about BTTV and FFZ?
They are included too. Most channels use several providers side by side, so JilChat loads 7TV, BTTV, FrankerFaceZ and FFZ:AP together.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a 7TV account to see 7TV emotes?
No. A channel’s emotes are public and JilChat loads them for everyone. You only need a 7TV account to manage emotes or paints on 7TV yourself.
Can I send 7TV emotes?
Yes. In chat, a 7TV emote is simply its name. When you type it, everyone with 7TV, including everyone in JilChat, sees the emote.
Is JilChat part of 7TV?
No. JilChat is an independent app that displays 7TV’s public data.
